Farm Big Shape Tracing

Fun tracing activities help our littlest learners become excited and engaged for writing. Our Big Shape Tracing is a perfect first step on their handwriting journey!

Students will trace the large shape and pattern lines in their favorite markers and shade the picture in to decorate.

We have just added a new addition to our series - The Farm! Choose from 10 delightful projects in this pack to trace and decorate.

Choose from:
  • scarecrow
  • barn
  • horse
  • goat
  • turkey
  • hen
  • sheep
  • pig

  • duck

Encourage your little ones to trace using a marker or crayon.

A fun option is to paint or color inside their tracing lines too!

Santa Art Project

Santa Art Project

We made a Santa in our craft corner after seeing so many adorable projects over on Pinterest. I've been using newspaper and paper doilies in craft projects since I was a child and love them so much. I am not sure who created the first newspaper or doily Santa over on Pinterest, but would love to credit them if you can tell me - there are SO many amazing ones.

First we painted newspaper with red and brown watercolor - for the body and face.

Watercolor Santa Art

After drying we cut a large triangle and glued it to blue project paper using a glue stick.

Newspaper Santa

The paper doily went on next, leaving a small red triangle popping out for his hat!

School Santa Project

We cut a face from the painted newspaper and glued it to the doily.

Easy Art For Christmas

Using googly eyes, a pink pom and cotton wool, we created the facial features.

Christmas Art for Kids

We chipped some white crepe paper for a snow (or cloud)  background.

Art Project Santa

Using a crayon marker, we drew a belt.

Kindergarten Art Project

And freehand cut a yellow square belt buckle.

No Santa is complete without some red rosy cheeks, so it was back to the watercolors!

We finished him off with a black-sharpie smile!

Santa Art Project For School

We hope you can create some cutie-pie Santas too! If you need more easy-prep art and craft ideas for Christmas, be sure to pop over to our store for some printables.

Alphabet Game for Fall

We would love to share a fun, engaging and easy-prep alphabet game with you that is perfect for autumn and fall. It will help your little ones with visual discrimination as well as letter identification.

Students take a game mat and look at the pictures and letters. The find card tiles that match and place them over the top. Add a velcro dot if you like.

Alternatively, students could take turns in a memory-style game to see which player finishes their board first.

This game is perfect to play when your students are first learning to read and need visual discrimination practice

The free pack also includes a cut-and-paste worksheet to follow up their learning!

Spider Reading Pack

Shared reading is an opportunity to teach your little ones to read but also provide a platform for a range of other learning experiences! We are thrilled to bring you another Reading Pack.

Our Reading Packs enable you to create a shared reading experience and integrate follow-up learning experiences. This pack includes a short rhyming text - Five Spotty Spiders.

You can access several different versions to share with your learners:

  1. printable pages - print the pdf file to staple to make a book
  2. printable student book - print and staple the blackline version
  3. digital - open and click through the MS Powerpoint file on a device or board
  4. animated version (see below) - play the video on a device or board and listen and track the words)

This little number-based story is perfect to integrate with learning the 'take away' strategy in subtraction. The story sees the spiders fall out of the web one at a time until only one is left. Use this text to help teach your students some social skills too about play, having fun and being safe.

In the printable pack, we've included a list of questions that you can use to encourage discussion, comprehension and connection to the text. These are ideal of a second or third read of the text. During the first read, just allow students to listen and join in to the reading.

Comprehension activities after shared reading

Six comprehension activities are also provided. You can do these activities as a whole class, particularly if you project them onto the whiteboard, in guided reading groups or independently when more capable.

An activity is provided to help students develop the strategies of:
  • making connections
  • monitoring
  • predicting
  • questioning
  • summarizing
  • visualizing
  • predicting

One Page Craft

Our One Page Crafts are always a hit, so we've included one for creative fun and fine motor skills. Encourage your learners to role play the text and use their crafts as puppets! A tracing and pinning page are also included - great for fine motor activity bins.

Writing Papers

Encourage your little ones to write their own spider themed story with the included planning and publishing papers.

Free Number Spider Coloring Page

To celebrate our brand new reading pack, we added a Five Spotty SPIders themed coloring page to the club! If you're a member (by the way, it's free) - it is ready and waiting for you!

We hope your little learners love the 10 activities and our original rhyming text. Use some or all, there is enough for a whole week of literacy engagement!
