Stretchy Snake Sounding Out

Make sounding out words and learning to read cvc words fun with Snake Stretch Foldables!

This printable pdf file will allow you to print and make 24 fun foldable activity snakes to help your students learn to 'stretch out' cvc words to read and write them.

Simply print, fold and put in your learning center along with the recording worksheets for your students to use. They will practice sounding out, blending to read a word, identifying the word, writing the word and finding a picture to match.

As an alternative you could laminate and cut the snakes to make puzzle pieces.

Once folded, students will unfold the sections of the snake at a time, to gradually reveal the sounds in the word

I have included recording worksheets that each feature 4 of the 24 words. Your students could do one page each day or more eager students could do more.

Included in this packet is a backline set of foldable snakes, so that your students can make their own set of stretchy snakes to take home.

Pet Directed Drawing

Make your unit of work on 'pets' more creative and fun with some of our new directed drawings. A bird drawing has been added today, extending on the original 10 included. Each drawing has 4 project options giving you 44 different lesson options!

I have a sample for you to try today - a pet iguana. As usual, my drawing are whimsical so be sure to show some real photos of iguanas when you implement this lesson and encourage your students to draw an iguana in their own style if preferred.

If you would like to take a closer peek at the new packet, head over to our store to find it HERE

And as for the iguana - here we go!

1.
Draw a head and take the line down the right.

2.
This is the trickiest bit.
Loop back up for the tail, curl back around and then down under before looping back up to the head.

3.
Add some stick legs and a tummy line.

4.
Finish with eyes, spikes, tummy stripes, nostrils, smile and a tongue!

And of course, give him some color.

Pictures tell a thousand words, so download the visual steps and let your little ones study the steps before they start! This download will give you some worksheet pages and writing activities as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by friends, have a lovely weekend!

Growing Pattern Activity Cards

Our new printable teaching packet will help your teach your little-ones to recognize, construct, analyze and predict growing patterns.

Growing patterns increase or decrease in predictable and describable ways.

You will need standard wooden pattern blocks to create these patterns.

Encourage your students to talk about their patterns. Encourage them to use numbers to describe the patterns and how they change.

The cards start with some simple patterns and increase in complexity - giving students a chance to make 48 different patterns.

You can find these printable activity cards, over in our TpT store:

Easter Bunny Color & Cut

I drew another an Easter Bunny on Instagram last night and thought I would make it into something you could make.

Just print the one page template and after a few snips with the scissors you will have an Easter Bunny!

I've included a 'featureless' template if you would like to give your little ones the opportunity to design their own bunny face.

One option is to clip them on a line to make a pretty Easter banner or bunting.

Find the template in Google Drive HERE
