From My Desk This July: New Drawings & Classroom Joy

Hello from My Desk! ☀️🐻🫐

Hello from my desk! I hope you're enjoying some lovely moments this July. While many of you are enjoying a well-deserved break from the classroom, I'm still here every day creating, drawing, and dreaming up new resources to support you when you're ready to head back to school.

Today, July 10, could be the perfect excuse to celebrate Teddy Bears' Picnic Day! It's always been one of my favorite classroom themes because it brings out such joy in children. They love bringing a treasured teddy or soft toy from home, having a special companion by their side, and gathering together on a picnic blanket for a little treat and a story. Those simple moments become such happy memories.

Teddy Bears' Picnic Day is always a classroom favorite. This coloring page is waiting for you in the Pond Coloring Club.

If you'd like a simple activity to go with your picnic, there's a Teddy Bear coloring page waiting for you in the Pond Coloring Club. And when you're back in the classroom, a big bear drawing makes a lovely follow-up art project.

I've also been sharing a few little drawing moments over on Instagram. Recently I posted a quick blueberry drawing tutorial, and it reminded me how valuable repeated drawing practice can be. Filling a page with blueberries is wonderful for building drawing fluency, pencil control, focus, and stamina - and they're the perfect picnic food too!

If you'd like printable drawing pages, you can find the Blueberry Drawing Pack here:

One blueberry at a time! Repetition builds drawing fluency, confidence, focus, and fine motor skills.

You might spot a few of my newest flower doodles blooming alongside Little Walking Cow on today's coloring page.

I've been making sure to spend a little time drawing for myself each day too. This page of flowers became my warm-up before starting work one morning, and I've already noticed some of those little shapes beginning to sneak into my illustrations. You might even spot them blooming in Little Walking Cow's new coloring page!

And if you have Kinder Drawing Bundle 5, keep an eye out—a brand new Hot Air Balloon Directed Drawing Pack has just floated in! Here's a little peek:

July is always a quieter month, and I truly hope you're enjoying the chance to rest, recharge, and spend time doing the things you love. While you're taking a break, I'll keep creating resources, drawing ideas, and little classroom surprises so they're ready and waiting for you when school begins again.

Thank you so much for being here and for supporting my little corner of the teaching world. It means more than you know.

I hope to see you again soon - and if you'd like to say hello, come and find me on Instagram. I'd love to hear what you're up to this July.

Enjoy your rest, and I'll see you again soon. 💛
