May is absolutely flying by, isn’t it?
The last few weeks have been wonderfully busy here, and I know many of you are juggling full days too. So I wanted to pop in with a little encouragement: even the tiniest doodle still counts.
A quick sketch in the corner of a notebook, a little scribble on scrap paper, a tiny idea you come back to later… it all matters. Creative practice doesn’t have to be perfect or polished to be valuable.
Here’s a little catch-up from the last few prompts in the May Doodle Challenge!
Day 15 – Circles
The prompt was:2 large circles + 3 small circles
I ended up drawing an intersecting flower shape with mine, but there are so many directions circles can go:
- planets
- bubbles
- raindrops on leaves
- dots and patterns
- flower petals
Day 16 – 10 Hearts
This page felt especially happy to draw.I scattered little clusters of hearts around a garden scene and across the sky - almost like tiny sprinkles of loving energy. Some were even flowing from the hand of a cheerful girl.
Sometimes the simplest shapes create the warmest pages 💗
Day 17 – Zig Zags
For the zig zag prompt, I drew a little zebra 🦓
Honestly, I think turning patterns and lines into animals might always be one of my favorite ways to doodle.
Day 18 – 3 Coral Spirals
Today’s spirals became spiral-tailed fish!
If you’re exploring spirals today, you could try:connecting spirals together
- changing the size of each one
- drawing spiral steam from a mug of cocoa
- snail shells
- flower centers
- tiny sand patterns left behind by a crab
The goal is never perfection - just exploration, play, and giving your ideas somewhere to land.
I’m sending lots of happy encouragement your way as we continue through May ✏️

Now… I think it might almost be time to start dreaming up some June delights too 🌿
