Yellow Boxfish Drawing

Help your children have a fun creative experience - and learn more about unique ocean creatures with a yellow boxfish drawing. With some simple steps (that also support handwriting and letter formation) they can draw on large art paper or in their writing book.

Did you know that the yellow boxfish is a unique and fascinating creature found in tropical waters? It's known for its distinctive cube-shaped body and bright yellow coloration.
  • Start with a squircle.
  • Do 3 little lines and join them up for the fins and tail.
  • Draw some eyes at the side and a heart shaped mouth!
  • Cover your boxy little fish with some spots!
  • Your children can paint or use crayons to make their fish vibrant yellow!
If you're in the Pond Coloring Club you can print off the steps to follow on a worksheet!

As well as exploring this unique yellow sea creature, extend your children's curiosity by researching some more yellow sea creatures. There is some great information on websites by National Geographic and The Australian Museum to support students learning about animals. You could review pages from sites like these as your morning shared or modelled reading session. There are also great books to read about ocean creatures too.

After research, your children can write using a page from my writing pages pack.
