There are lots of little learning opportunities hiding in those tally marks:

• Review what tally marks are and why we use them.
• Choose a different child each day to add the new tally mark.
• Count the total together each day — yesterday we had 26, so one more makes…?
• Ask, “What else could we tally?”

For a fun home challenge, invite students to create their own tally chart using something from their world — cars passing by, toys on their shelf, birds in the garden, or the number of days they’ve played outside.

One tiny tally mark a day…and before you know it, 100 days! ☁️☁️🎉
