Here are 3 simple ways to use them beyond the classic clothespin activity (counting forward/backward with dot support to build 1:1 correspondence).

Bonus tip: Swap clothespins for tan rhombus blocks—students can “add spikes” to their dinosaurs for extra fun!

1. Find the Difference

Focus: subtraction, number sense
Steps:

Roll two 20-sided dice
Find the difference
Cover the matching number

2. Trace & Count

Focus: counting, fine motor
Steps:

Place card in a sleeve
Trace dots while counting forward/back
Erase and repeat

3. Call & Cover (Compare Numbers)

Focus: number comparison

Steps:

Show or say two numbers
Identify the larger number
Cover it
