Classroom routines printable worksheet

I would love to share with you a printable activity that students can complete after students have been in routine for a few weeks.

Ask them to reflect on how the routines and classroom rules have helped build their class community. Is it always equal? Do they always get what they want? What have been the benefits of having special and regular ways of doing things?

Ask students to draw or write about a few of the ways they contribute to the classroom community. There is a lot of talking, listening and thinking required in the first weeks of school.

Having a worksheet like this to do at their desk or tables gives them a break from all the language-load of 'discussion' {there is so much of it early in the school year}. It gives you time to see their work habits in action and most importantly they get to try out all the wonderful fresh new supplies they have been itching to use.

We have included a sample page. Project this on your board and use it as examples of how some classrooms may run. Encourage students to note that you would like them to record an action, but also the effect of that routine on the classroom community.
