Division Fun

Our Doggy Division activity cards will help you make division lessons fun and engaging. Perfect for learners who are ready to recognize, name and use the division symbol and work towards being able to recall division facts.

Your learners should have had plenty of practical experience with sharing and grouping objects. These experiences should have been with small numbers without remainders.

Doggy Division will work with numbers up to 108 and may help students begin to understand that multiplication has an inverse relationship with division.

Use these activity cards as 'Write and Wipe Cards' or as 'task cards' where the students simply record their answers on the worksheet provided.

You will need to laminate these cards before use with a dry-erase marker.

For students requiring just a little support, I have made a Doggy Division number line. You can explain the 'repeated subtraction' strategy to them and ask them to model each division problem with a dry erase marker on the laminated ruler. Count the jumps to find the answer!

This ruler can be used for all sorts of math activities and I would love to share it with you today.
