Sam and I did a mini lesson on the letter sound 'r' today!
A few people have asked me why I am home and not teaching - I am on temporary leave from the classroom for the moment, while I get a severe allergic reaction under control. The joys.
We looked at words that have 'r' at the beginning, sang our new song (to the tune of Farmer in the Dell) and added the new letter to our sound book. We recalled all the sounds we have learnt so far on the alphabet desk chart that matches our program.

We made a 'R' book and read some simple sentences.
We got out some new manipulative - duplo letters - and made some words - stretching out to both hear and make some simple words.
We practiced writing r with correct stroke formation.
Sam's favourite is always the stories, and since tidying up our bookshelves last week, we found lots to enjoy!
