Are you following along with the May Doodle Challenge? It’s not too late to start! You can always go back and sketch a few ideas from the days you’ve missed and turn them into one lovely standalone creative planner page.
Let’s take a peek at what I did for Day 7, and then you can grab your own sketchbook (or creative planner page!) and explore some star ideas of your own.
Today’s prompt was: 7 Purple Stars
For my page, I played around with linking stars together using loopy lines and trails. I also made a little star cluster with 2 larger stars in the center and 5 smaller stars gathered around the edge.
One of my favorite things about these prompts is how a very simple starting point can quickly grow into something interesting once your pen starts moving.
Here’s another idea you could try:
Drop 7 dots onto your page—almost like freckles on a cheek - and then join them together to see where the line wants to travel. I added a little heart at the end of mine 😊
Quick Start Idea
Draw one large purple star and fill it with:- tiny patterns
- scribbles
- stripes
- dots
- little shapes
- or even tiny doodles!
- Draw 7 stars in different sizes
- Make a constellation by connecting your stars with lines
- Hide 7 stars inside a larger picture
- Create a sleepy night sky with stars and a moon 🌙
- Try overlapping stars to create new shapes
- Fill stars with different textures and patterns
Remember—you don’t need a finished masterpiece. The goal is simply to begin, explore, and enjoy a few creative moments on the page.
Happy doodling ✏️💜
