Hello creative teacher friends! 💛
I hope you love discovering new, exciting projects to try with your children, because this week I’ve added two brand‑new directed drawing and writing packs to Fun Bundle 2 in my TPT store.
Both projects are designed to build confidence, encourage joyful mark‑making, and support handwriting‑friendly drawing movements—while keeping creativity and fun at the heart of the process.

What’s New in Fun Bundle 2
- Happy Jumpy Puppy – Directed Drawing & Writing Pack
- Hen’s Eggs – Directed Drawing & Writing Pack
If you already have Fun Bundle 2, these projects are ready and waiting for you as a happy little bonus

Happy Jumpy Puppy
Happy Jumpy Puppy is all about movement, joy, and freedom.
This project helps students practise flowing, fluid lines that don’t need to be exact. Because the puppy is jumping and in motion, students can let their pens glide in and out, around and through the shapes—perfect for creating sweeping arms, legs, and a real sense of energy.
It’s a gentle, confidence‑building way to support children who may feel unsure about drawing. The focus is on movement rather than perfection.
I’ve shared the drawing steps over on Instagram so you can see an example in action:

Why teachers love this project
- A familiar, much‑loved topic (a pet puppy) helps students feel safe trying a freer drawing style
- Ideal for Valentine’s Day—the puppy begins with a heart‑shaped (upside‑down!) nose
- Perfect for channeling holiday excitement into focused creativity
- Students can design their own background: spring, summer, winter, or even a school setting

🐔 Hen’s Eggs – A Bright Spring Project
Hen’s Eggs is a calm, cheerful project designed around simple handwriting‑based movements.
The drawing begins with repeated hop lines, curved lines, and a spiral, gradually forming a sweet hen sitting on her oval eggs. Students then explore patterns and colour to complete the eggs, making each artwork beautifully unique.
This pack works especially well alongside the writing pages. Students might:
- Practise “en” word families
- Write about the beginning of spring
- Describe the hen, the eggs, or the patterns they created
It’s a lovely way to welcome the lighter, happier months ahead 🌷
3 Tips for Using Watercolours in the Classroom
We painted our Happy Jumpy Puppy drawings with Micador watercolours after drawing with marker on watercolour paper. If you’d like to try this too, here are a few simple tips that work beautifully with young artists:
- Use waterproof marker first
Drawing with marker before painting helps shapes stay clear and gives students confidence. It also allows them to focus on colour without worrying about losing their drawing. - Less water = more control
Encourage students to dip, wipe, then paint. This helps prevent puddles and gives them better control—especially helpful for small hands. - Let colours do the work
Watercolour magic happens when colours gently mix on the page. Invite students to watch what happens when colours touch rather than trying to keep everything perfectly separate.

Extra Support Pages Included
All of my drawing packs now include tracing and colouring pages. These are perfect for:
- Revisiting the project later in the year
- Supporting fine motor development
- Independent work, centres, or calm‑down activities
