Friday Teacher Inspiration: Turkey Name Craft Glow-Up + Cool Cat Math + Creative Coloring Pages

✏️ Hello From My Desk — Happy Friday!

Hi sweet teacher friends — popping in quickly with a few happy updates from the last day or so. Grab a cup of something warm and take a tiny moment just for you. 💛

🦃 Turkey Name Craft — New Glow Up!

Wonderful news — the Turkey Name Craft just got a makeover!

There are now 6 different turkey heads to choose from:
  • silly expressions
  • cute expressions
  • a blank version so students can draw their own face

My favorite part?

Students can glue feathers anywhere along their name! The more unexpected, the better. You can even use real craft feathers for extra flair!

🟡 Teacher Tip: Cut the name letters first, then let students lay out their design before gluing—you’ll get more creative choices and fewer accidental gobbles.

☀️ A Little “Take It Slow” Moment

Today’s card in my Take It Slow desk deck (Kikki K) told me: “Step outside, breathe, and notice everything.”

So I did.

And I saw a good friend.

A stunning Nankeen Kestrel—let’s call her Nan—perched in a tree and enjoying the morning sunshine like she also got a “Take it Slow” card. We stared at each other for a moment, both contemplating our next creative project (hers: soaring / mine: coloring pages).

Fun fact: Nan agrees with me—kookaburras are way bossier (and sharper) than ravens.
Trust me on this.

If you’d like a Sky Dancer coloring page inspired by Nan, she’s waiting in the Pond Coloring Club today.

☕ Creativity in a Cup

Lately, I’ve been sketching whatever my morning coffee reveals.

Today’s bubbles showed… a frog in a cup (in a cup). Yes, frog inception. 🐸

Creativity really does come from everywhere.

I’ll sketch it properly this weekend and share it—tell me if you see the frog too!

Creative sketching moment—finding inspiration everywhere, even in a morning cup of coffee.

🐱 New Resource: Cool Cat Counts – Teen Numbers & Place Value

This math craft helps students build teen numbers with tens and ones.
  • Builds number sense
  • Perfect for math centers or a bulletin board

❄️ Sneak Peek: Snowmen Coming Soon

I’ve been drawing and prepping coloring pages for the next few months…
and let’s just say snowmen are on the horizon. ☃️

Think cozy scarves, winter whimsy, and big “just one more minute” coloring energy.

  • three whole minutes of quiet planning time…

I hope you find a moment of peace!
