Red Rectangle Rocket - Take It and MAKE It!

My daughter and I made some red rectangle rockets last week. She was learning all about the letter sound r in kindergarten and this evolved!

Find more great 'make it' ideas over at Cynthia's pad!

You can print the templates in my file to create the rocket, or you may be crafty enough  to draw your own. I have included a 'write the room' activity in the file, so that your 'fast finishers' have something to keep them occupied.

What other wonderful ways do you learn about the sound r in kindergarten? I vividly remember my 'red day' in kindergarten quite a few years ago!

You can find the template packet over in my TpT store by clicking on the image below:

I have been busy the last day or so, listing some new items I have had made for a while.

My Australian friends may like to complete a red poppy craft for ANZAC Day. Not sure about you, but I often forget to prepare something, so I am way ahead this year!

The first of our 'Word Family Week of Writing' packets is free, so you can take a peek at what is included. I have included all so far in our value bundle

Click on the image below to grab the free one:

And these little cuties are free today too. I have always been into great big bold colour (in the classroom anyhow), and these are me to a tee! Find them by clicking below:

I hope you are having a mighty fine week. Take care!

Ooh... we have 'r' coming up this term. I think I know what my preppies will be making that week!

As always, you inspire me!

That rocket is so cute! Ha ha we often had colour days when I was teaching prep, too much fun quite frankly! I have to say Mel, I am LOVING your print cut make/paste series, so easy and cute for teachers and students. Keep them coming I say.

That is a really cute idea. I know my little girls at home would really enjoy that activity (must remember for the hot summer days inside)! I also like the -at family activity. This will be helpful for the beginning of the year next year.

This is so cute, Mel. I will save it for the beginning of the year when we review the letters in first grade. Thanks for sharing.
