Hello From My Desk: December Drawings, Gingerbread & Creative Moments

Hello from my desk 🤍

It’s such a busy time of year, isn’t it? Between school days, end-of-year wrapping up, and all the excitement of the pre-holiday season, it’s easy to miss a few things that quietly pop up along the way. Some of these may not have made it onto social media, into my store, or even into the Pond Coloring Club yet—so I thought I’d gather them here and say hello properly.

I hope you’re having a weekend that feels balanced with a little fun, a little rest, and just the right amount of holiday excitement.

What holidays do you celebrate?

We celebrate Christmas, and I’m very happy to say our tree is up 🌲 I also started baking today—gingerbread stars! They’re cooling as I write this and will be ready to ice tomorrow. I’ll try to share a little glimpse on Instagram so you can see them all decorated.

Snow Globe Winter Drawing – December Drawing Challenge

Earlier this week, I shared a drawing reel of a snow globe, which linked in so nicely with my December Drawing Challenge. It’s been lovely to see how this idea has sparked creativity—especially if you’re following along with children. A dreamy winter scene, a snow globe world, or even a favorite animal playing in a winter setting works beautifully.

Cute Candy Cane Directed Drawing with Handwriting Links

I’ve also added some very cute candy canes to the Directed Drawing Fun Bundle. They are so engaging and full of personality, and I love how easily they link to handwriting. The candy cane shape works perfectly as a starting line for the letter f, and the eyes can become a double o. Sweet, simple, and full of character.

Mouse with Crown Coloring Page – Pond Coloring Club

Over in the Pond Coloring Club, there’s a sweet little mouse wearing a crown. I like to imagine she’s dancing her way toward the Christmas tree—she feels full of joy and tiny celebration energy.

I’ve been completing daily drawings for my December Drawing Challenge too. Have you joined in? Are you enjoying it? Do you need some ideas or a little support to keep going? I’d truly love to chat with you about where your drawing is taking you—please do reach out.

December Desk Scene with Gingerbread and Sketchbook

And finally, this really is the perfect time of year to draw a big, happy reindeer 🦌 These pages are from one of my drawing packs and give students the option to draw their own reindeer or paint and color one of the included designs.

You can find that pack here:

Thank you for popping by my desk today. I’m so glad you’re here!
