Joyful Learning Through Math, Art and Play!

From My Desk: New Winter Crafts, Math Fun & Drawing Delights!

Hello from my desk — how’s your week going?

I’ve been busy creating new resources and updating a few favorites to bring more fun and creativity to your classroom. Let’s dive into what’s new (and freshly updated!) this week!

🐉 Dragonfly One Page Craft

This week, I reviewed the Dragonfly One Page Craft from my Alphabet One Page Craft Animal Pack on TPT.

Over on Instagram, I showed how you can use silver Christmas wrapping tinsel for the dragonfly’s antennae — such a fun and sparkly twist! It’s a simple way to inspire students to think creatively about materials.

Teacher Tip:

Keep a “treasure box” in your art center with leftover ribbons, yarn, or tinsel. It encourages imaginative thinking and fine motor practice!

☃️ Snowman Math Fun

Meet my newest math resource: the Snowman Part-Part-Whole Mats.

This hands-on activity makes addition practice joyful and visual for young learners.

Teacher Tip:

Laminate the mats for reusable practice or turn it into a math center by pairing them with mini erasers or buttons!

🎨 Directed Drawing Fun — Squirrel & Reindeer

I’ve added new printable pages to the Directed Drawing Fun Bundle, featuring simple oval-based designs that build drawing confidence:

Reindeer

These are perfect for building shape recognition and sequencing skills while giving students plenty of room to add color and creative flair.

Teacher Tip:

Use these for early finishers — they blend art and writing beautifully!

✂️ Updated: Oval Scissor Skills Pack

The Oval Scissor Skills Pack got a glow-up! There are now 21 animals in total — 9 brand-new additions!

Cutting practice just got even more fun and skill-building.

🌸 Weekend Doodles & A Little Find

I also spent some quiet weekend time doodling dragonflies following the challenge sheet I shared in my newsletter. You can find out more or join future doodle challenges here.

And on a personal note, I found the cutest little Christmas house at Kmart — it’s destined to become part of a math game soon. Stay tuned!
