FREE Phonics Packet - Snail or Slug

I’d love to share a few resources with you to help students differentiate between the consonant blends sl and sn.
As they learn to notice the difference between these blends, they will apply their understanding to other blend pairs like bl and br.

Numbers to 30 Worksheets

I have had lots of requests to make a set of worksheets to follow on from our Numbers to 10 and Numbers to 20 worksheets set.

Well, here they are!

Sorry, it is a short one tonight - Sunday night and the Australian Open Tennis is on the TV, so I am off to put my feet up! Look out for some free graphics tomorrow!

As well as making worksheets that are simple and easy to print and go, I love making easy-to-prep games for my students. Children love doing 'hands-on' with their learning. 'Clip a Card' is just one of the activity sin my huge range of numeracy games. Your students will love sliding paper clips or squeezing clothespins (pegs) onto each card to match the numeral!

Have a lovely day!

Love Heart Borders

Click on the image above to download from TpT

I made a "flexible" New Years Resolution to cook one family dinner each week from a new recipe and also to draw something new each day to develop my digital design skills. So far, I have kept up my promise....and this evening - while the new dinner was in the oven, I made these cute new borders. I must be getting better as I knocked over both in around two hours.....time for something more challenging I guess!

I hope you like them and can use them. I must also take this opportunity to thank everyone for all your wonderful comments and feedback. I have been truly blessed and I am just sorry I do not have time to get back to each of you individually. I really do appreciate your support, and it keeps me going - thank you!

Winter World - I can dream

It seems unusual that on a warm summer day that I am going to spend in my sister's pool I am listing a set of winter themed graphics. Well, I can dream! I am 32 weeks pregnant, and a little cooler weather would be delightful. My dad told me yesterday that a week of 'winter weather' is on its way from tomorrow (we are having a very mild summer), so it has inspired me - along with all the wonderful winter-themed teaching resources I keep seeing on TpT. Mind you, a week of winter-like weather for us, will not include snow and penguins.....but I will be happy to be able to wear some clothes that cover more of my ever-expanding body! O the joy of being pregnant....

Penguin Coloring Page

Penguin Coloring Page

Edited in 2021:
Find this page in Google Drive: Penguin Coloring Page

I have made this coloring page to share with you using the original penguin I shared as clipart in this post when it was first published (see original text below). The clipart was some of the first I made and completely the result of simple experimentation with vector image design using a mouse. Looking back it was like I was blindfolded and drawing with my toes. I could easily sketch with my hand on paper but digitally with a mouse, I was a baby learning to crawl for the first time! I wanted to leave something here on this post so you could see the growth I had made and also because I was very proud of that set. I shared it with other, emerging teacher-authors who went on to create some very popular and successful teaching resources with my whimsical winter cuties.
I would love for you to use these in your next teaching resource files. As well as the coloured pictures, the set includes a line art version of each, to make worksheets easier for you to create. They were fun to make, my 4 year old daughter was captivated and helped me to choose colours and fill in the sections of colour. I did not set out to create a set of graphics to share with you, I was just playing around and experimenting - they are hand-drawn with my computer mouse, so not perfect. But rather than just delete them, I thought some of my blog friends may be able to use some of them at least! I think they are still quite cute and useful for teaching resources. I do have to share a little picture of a blue penguin my 4 year old created after I finished my work. She begged me to let her try. I did help her with all the tools, but the drawing is essentially hers. I was so proud! Have a great day, and think of me floating my worries away like a slow moving whale, in the pool - increasingly becoming the only place I can get comfortable!

It includes:

Classroom 2D Shape Posters

Make your teaching and classroom come alive with these wonderful poster charts to learn basic 2D shapes. We have had special colorful characters designed to motivate your students! This file includes posters depicting our shape character, plain single shapes, a collection of the same shapes in different orientations and a simple fact/feature poster for each shape. The basic shapes included are: circle, square, rectangle, oblong, triangle, oval, hexagon, octagon, pentagon, rhombus, trapezium, trapezoid and star. Don't forget that you can print them out 2 or 4 to a page to create small charts or game cards too.

A Shape Activity Book

This printable file will help you to make a My Shapes Book for each of your students. Simply print, photocopy and staple suitable pages to create a practical and motivating workbook for students to complete whilst learning about basic 2D shapes.

The shapes covered are: square, triangle, rectangle, rhombus, circle, hexagon, octagon, pentagon, trapezium, oval and star. There is also a page for "oblong" and "trapezoid" in case you use that terminology.

The cute characters on each page link in with our 2D Shape Posters file, to help motivate your students - link these resources to create a wonderful lesson. Students will need to colour, trace, draw and find/paste a picture of each shape throughout the book

Ice Cream Pile Up!

A TpT buyer called Deb, asked me to make some ice cream graphics with the scoop and cone separated. Here is what I came up with - it did make me hungry! We are having the warmest day of our summer so far, and ice cream would be just perfect right now!

Deb, if you follow this bog, could you get your email to me so that I can send you these for free. Thank you for the suggestion - ideas are always welcome!

Valentines Day Graphics - Conversation Hearts

Graphics for Teachers & Teacher Bloggers

Happy New Year! 2012 is going to be a wonderful year for me here at From the Pond. I will start maternity leave in February and will hopefully have so much more time to be creative!

I have decided to kick off 2012 with a new TeachersPayTeachers store. This store will just feature my graphics, clipart, borders etc that have been designed with teachers in mind.

My graphics have terms of use for teachers wanting to distribute their work commercially - so you can be more the sharing-kind-of-teacher or blogger. Please contact me if you have any questions about the Terms of Use.

I am moving all my current graphics from our TpT store (which will remain open selling our teaching resources) to the new store
